Dr Hamed Zinsaz

Dr Hamed Zinsaz is a Melbourne based and trained Geriatrician and Physician. He has extensive experience in looking after older people with multiple and complex medical issues.

Following his passion, he undertook specialist training in the field of aged-care at Alfred Health, Monash Health and Peninsula Health, during which he gained working experience in multiple areas of medicine that are relevant to caring for older patients. He started private practice after completion of his training in public sector, aiming to fill the gap that currently exists in care of older patients in the outpatient settings.

In addition to taking a detailed medical history and performing a physical examination, assessing an elderly patient often requires an in depth understanding of the person’s psychosocial issues and function level. The clinician who does such assessment needs to be very considerate and patient to be able to build a good rapport with the patient and their family and formulate a safe and practical management plan. Dr Zinsaz offers a holistic and passionate approach to patients who often have multiple and complex health problems, to achieve the best possible outcome and help the patients maintaining their independence. He loves to educate patients and their family about common medical conditions in older patients and how they may affect the patients in their day to day life. He actively involves other health professionals such as the GP and physiotherapist to tailor the management plan for each patient.
