Dr Hamed Zinsaz
Dr Hamed Zinsaz is a Melbourne based and trained Geriatrician and Physician. He has extensive experience in looking after older people with multiple and complex medical issues.
Following his passion, he undertook specialist training in the field of aged-care at Alfred Health, Monash Health and Peninsula Health, during which he gained working experience in multiple areas of medicine that are relevant to caring for older patients. He started private practice after completion of his training in public sector, aiming to fill the gap that currently exists in care of older patients in the outpatient settings.
In addition to taking a detailed medical history and performing a physical examination, assessing an elderly patient often requires an in depth understanding of the person’s psychosocial issues and function level. The clinician who does such assessment needs to be very considerate and patient to be able to build a good rapport with the patient and their family and formulate a safe and practical management plan. Dr Zinsaz offers a holistic and passionate approach to patients who often have multiple and complex health problems, to achieve the best possible outcome and help the patients maintaining their independence. He loves to educate patients and their family about common medical conditions in older patients and how they may affect the patients in their day to day life. He actively involves other health professionals such as the GP and physiotherapist to tailor the management plan for each patient.
During his time at the Alfred, he has been involved in research about treatment of the nursing home residents in their aged care facility as an alternative to attending hospital or GP clinics and published a paper on iron infusion in this setting for patients with iron deficiency.
Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his family and two young boys. He likes riding and swimming in Bayside and takes short trips when his busy career allows.
Dr Zinsaz consults at Malvern east rooms and Holmesglen private hospital. He also offers home visits in southeast Melbourne. He is available to see patients in aged care facilities to support the GP and staff to manage their patients.

Dr Michael Angputra
Dr Michael Angputra is a geriatrician who provides thoughtful, personalised care for older adults and their families. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne and undertook his internship and Basic Physician Training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Eastern Health, before completing Advanced Training in Geriatric Medicine at Western Health and Barwon Health. Working across these diverse settings has given him a deep understanding of the medical, functional and social factors that shape how older adults experience illness, recovery and daily life.
Michael initially planned a career in acute medicine, but his experiences caring for vulnerable older adults changed this direction. He saw how easily people could lose autonomy when unwell, and how treatments sometimes failed to align with what mattered to patients themselves. His time in palliative care reinforced the importance of listening carefully and supporting people through uncertainty. His grandmother’s later-life journey further highlighted the central role of dignity, independence and personal history in shaping good clinical decisions. These experiences collectively led him to geriatric medicine because understanding the individual is essential to effective care.
This philosophy continues to guide his practice. Michael focuses on creating a space where patients and carers feel comfortable speaking openly about their priorities and concerns. He values strong teamwork and collaborates closely with families, primary care clinicians and allied health teams to develop practical, achievable care plans. His approach emphasises mutual understanding, realistic goal setting, reducing treatment burden and supporting ageing at home whenever it is safe and appropriate.
Michael has experience across acute medicine, rehabilitation, community geriatric outreach and residential aged care. He has also participated in memory, movement disorder, falls and continence clinics. These roles have strengthened his ability to support older adults with overlapping cognitive, neurological and functional challenges and have shaped his calm, structured approach to complex presentations.
He also has a strong interest in supporting and educating carers, providing guidance on behavioural changes, maintaining daily function, navigating community supports and reducing caregiver stress. He believes that well-supported carers are essential partners in maintaining safety and wellbeing for older adults.
At the heart of his practice, Michael aims to help older people live well in the way that matters most to them. He is known for his warm communication style, patient teaching approach and genuine commitment to preserving dignity, safety and personal choice. His goal is to ensure patients and carers feel understood, supported and confident in the plans made for their future.
